This is Blue, part of my graduation work, a series of 6 images of the 6 colours of the colour wheel. Each image is made with etching and acrylic aquatint (more or less succesfully, explained separately in each deviation.)
Another plate that came out really well, except that the two darkest shades look the same. The tail is supposed to be the darkest and and the shade in the body is next. And I was careless when wiping the white areas clean. But it's alright I guess. Prussian blue makes everything alright. I would like to express my annoyance by the fact that school has serious lack of different shades. There were three cans of aquamarine blue and only one prussian, that was old and nearly dryed too. Same with reds, only one can of way too old alizarin crimson and four flame reds. Warm red is a total disaster when trying to mix purple. And the only shade of green they have is viridian. I think it's partly because so many people there seem to suffer from kleptomania so there's really no point at all to keep getting them more different things to steal.
There's really not much more to say about this picture than that. It's blue. It's a merman. There's seaweed. He has pretty hair. Yesh.
